HMUA: Makeup by AnneVida
Rating: Super Highly Recommended

AnneVida is actually 2 persons. Hehehe… One is Anne and the other one is Vida. They both do great makeup pero mas nakakausap ko c Anne and sha ang nagmakeup sa akin.
Anne’s is my friend Mela’s friend. She recommended me Anne cguro start pa lng ng wedding preps and I consider her talga. I looked for feedbacks from w@w pero I can’t find any. Pero I took the chance and contacted her. I asked for her rates and they were reasonable nmn. After that hindi ko na mashado nacontact c Anne and hindi na kmi nakapagmeet. Then she texted me last April 2008 and told that they were joining the bridal fair in Megamall. Sabi ko kay Matt na punta kami para makapagpabook kay Anne. So we went there and they were offering free make up trial so nag pamakeup ako and i loved how she did my makeup. Simple natural makeup lang ung ginawa nya ang it was great. The first time I met her magaan kaagad ang loob ko sa kanya. Gus2 ko sha kasi lagi sha nakasmile and masaya shang tao. Hehehhe… So right there I booked them for our wedding. Next meeting nmn is ung trial make up ko nung July yata un. Sabi ko gawin mo nmn ako blushing bride. Hehhee… and she did. Ang galling ng ginawa nya. Feeling bride talga ako. Hheheheh….
During the wedding, kasama sa package nmn ang makeup ni MIL and SIL so dun muna sha pumunta. She was there with her team cguro 7am yata un. Ang aga noh!! Hehehe… dumating cla sa akin siguro around 9:30am tapos work agad. Makeup agad. Nung mnmakeupan nya ako wala kami ginawa kundi magtawanan. Cguro dahil sa kakulitan nya nawala na din ang kaba ko. Parang matagal na kami magkakilala. Hehehe... ung hairstylist nya na c Cel magaling din. According sa kanya mukha daw grade 6. heheheh.... Sobrang saya talga. She took care of me during preps and she made me beautiful. Everybody was telling me how beautiful I look. All thanks to Anne. At tinulungan pa nya ako magbihis since wala ang designer ko. She was not just my makeup artist. She was there as a friend at the same time. She’s one of those suppliers na after the wedding ended up being your friend. I love Anne and her team.

HAIR & MAKE-UP

Posted on Friday June 13, 2008 - Comments (0)

I started scouting for possible HMU vendors by mid-May.  Siyempre, ako maghahanap nun since it's primarily the concern of the bride kaysa sa groom.  Kung si Isko nga ang masusunod, ayaw nya ng naka-make-up ako.  Hehe!  Anyway, I began reading various forums and recommendations.  Medyo madami ang nagrereco sa tatlong super sikat na HMU artist (super common siya among artistas).  Ang tanong, kaya ba ito ng budget namin (and yun nga, after I made some inquiries, di nga talaga namin kaya, or we are not willing to spend that much money on HMU). Pero siyempre we want someone who can really deliver.  Baka maya kasi, super carry namin ang cost, pero di naman pala ma-e-enhance ang features ko.  So upon carefully browsing through the forums, I came across the name ANNEVIDA.  I checked out their website and I really am amazed with their background and testimonials.  I e-mailed them immediately, and Wow!...as in..super bilis at sipag mag-reply ni Vida.  Kaya naman, I really can't wait to have my Trial.  Dapat sana nung June 7, para in time din sa anniversary ng Chevron, kaso di ako umattend.  Kaya I had my trial make-up kanina (June 13 - Friday AM, kaladkarin ko si Isko at si Angel, Haha!).  Ayun!  Super satisfied ako (pati ang mga julalay ko, bwehehe)!  Kamukha ko daw si Angelica Panganiban (Uy, si Vida nagsabi nun ha)!  Ahahaha!  Super thankful ako both kay Anne (who did my hair) and kay Vida (for my make-up).  Tama nga yung isang testimonial, they really know how to enhance what's been there all along.  I'm currently waiting for the copies of my TMU pics.  They're having snapshots kasi habang inaayusan nila ako so that I will know daw how will I look on cam and sa photos.  I really can't wait na talaga sa actual wedding.  I know that I will be my prettiest on that day! =)

Check out my TMU links na sa photo albums....Juz got an email from Vida e...Soooo nice! (",)

Hair and Make Up (Prenup): Anne Magadia of AnneVida

Peso power: special price because Anne’s a friend of a friend.

Contact details: 0927-3414636

Anne was referred to me a by a good friend of mine (who happens to be a film director). She was the HMUA in one of his films. I loved my hair and make up during our prenup shoot. She arrived at my house at 5am and immediately set to work. She’s really nice and easy to talk to.

I originally wanted her to do my hair and make up on my wedding date but unfortunately, she already had a previous appointment. :(

ANNE MAGADIA –

Makeup Artist, Manila

(by Carla Arriola , freelance writer)

Computer science and make up never really meshed well until Annette Magadia came to the equation.

With her first loves being-- a video editor and photography, refined contours and enhanced facial features have proven to be vital to her finished products.  Anne first tried her hand at make up in improving the surfaces and faces of her clients.  It didn't take long for the itch to bite her.  Soon enough, she mapped out her pursuit to improve her skills in make up and design.

The year 2007 proved to be one charm after another.  After finishing her degree in Artistic Makeup at LaSalle Colleges International, Annette trained under the supervision of one of Manila's top makeup artists, Mr. RB Chanco.  Through him, she had the opportunity to attend and complete another makeup workshop at MAC.  The good just keeps getting better.  That same year, she received her certificate in Hair Upstyle 101 at the Center for Aesthetic studies, under the instruction and expertise of renowned French hair professional Laurent Herbert.

Year 2009, Anne had her certificate in Glamour/Airbrush Makeup course at Australian  College of Hair Design and Beauty.

Currently, she is expanding her experience in bridal occasions, from prenuptial photo shoots to the big day itself.  Armed with a keen eye for detail and a love for aesthetics, Annette continues to transcend her creative expressions and works, from simple and grand occasions to the independent film scene.

VIDA ANTONIO-BAYANIN

Makeup Artist, Manila

(by Carla Arriola, freelance writer)

Toying with Mama's lipstick never felt more like fate for Vida Belle.

Vida garnered her Communication Arts roots in Miriam College.  It was in college where she found her liking for theater and the arts, and the art of makeup.  From theatrical presentations to audio visual presentations, Vida exhibited a talent that one cannot ignore.

After landing a job in a multinational company, she managed to put up a capital to start her own online store.  By October 2006, she launched Annevida Accessories in Multiply.com, a networking site.  Taking another risk after the other, Vida's online shoppe specialized in personalized items.  Months passed by and her list of clientèle grew, landing her a position in Wikipedia Philippines' Top Ten Online Shops of 2007.

To some, a stable job and being part of the Philippines' top sellers would be enough. But Vida's insatiable appetite for growth caught up with her as it reunited her with colors and paints through makeup.

By the year 2007, she finished her Artistic Makeup degree at LaSalle Colleges International, with one of Manila's top makeup artists, Mr. RB Chanco, as her mentor.  She also completed a makeup workshop under MAC Cosmetics.

By September 2007, Vida completed another certificate course for Makeup One on One at the Center for Aesthetic Studies under the direction of makeup expert Mayone Bakunawa.

Though bigwigs are starting to pile up in Vida's list of credentials, it is her clients list that proved to be more important for Vida.  Known for her outstanding customer service, Vida continues to improve the quality of her service through constant reeducation and research.

By November 2008, Vida completed a Beauty & Hi - Fashion Makeup for Professional Artists  Module at Maquiellage Professionnel .

Maquillage Professionnel is affiliated with Makeup Forever, its training studio is located at Bonifacio High Street.  Here, students underwent extensive training in beauty makeup under the supervision of Makeup Forever’s chief artist – Mr. Bobby Carlos.

At present, Vida fills up her calendar with bridal events, even setting up test makeup sessions for her client's approval.  It is Vida's great desire for quality product and service that earned her clients' trust and value.

ANNE & VIDA have combined their rapport, passion, skills and expertise in makeup and design to enhance the simplicity and elegance of Filipina beauty.

Thank You from Keit and Michelle (sent to us through email) Thanks so much for the kind words Mich :-)________________________________________________________________________

Hi Vida, Anne, and your HMU team,

When I was looking for a HMU team, I was struck at how flexible and accomodating Vida was during our discussions. This willingness to compromise was actually the main reason why I thought you guys would be pleasant to work with.

And my instinct was not wrong. We would like to thank your team for the excellent service and great attitude you have given us on our special day. You were all very patient, calm, and helpful. Also, I don't think I had the chance to thank your hairstylist who did a great job with my hair. I think like most brides, I was distracted and worried about so many things that day. Today I saw the wedding photos for the first time, and could not help but wonder if I failed compliment you all on that day for a job well done. My hairstyle is especially nice and I looked great in all the photos! :)

Thank you for all your help, we are very happy to have chosen your team for our special day. We'd gladly recommend you guys to all our acquaintances. Here's to many, many more successful events coming your way. All the best in the future!

Warmest Regards,
Keit and Michelle

What's hot now? Are trumpet skirts in? Will candy and dessert bars still be as popular in 2009? Here's a forecast from The Knot.

Trend 1: Rustic homespun details

Outdoor weddings -- on a farm, in a vineyard, or even in the backyard -- are huge right now, and we'll continue to see a lot of them in 2009. It's really no wonder: An outdoor setting makes for a fun, laid-back vibe and the decor options are limitless. So what kinds of details are in store? Vintage vases filled with fresh-from-the-garden flowers, mismatched china in bright colors, and homemade wooden signs to direct guests. Even catering is in on the action with in-season ingredients paired with local wine.

Trend 2: Jewel tonesSay good-bye to pale pastels and bright poppies. Rich gem colors like navy, plum, and amber are going to be hot. And instead of chocolate brown, look to a soft creme brulee hue, bronzes, coppers, and black. Yes, that's right -- black is back too.

Trend 3: Patterns that popGingham, checkered, polka-dotted, paisley, toile, damask -- you name it, colorful patterns are in and in a big way. Add patterned overlays to your tables to instantly perk up the room, find an off-the-rack patterned dress for your bridesmaids, and have your invitations and envelopes lined with colorful designs. The best part about this trend is that it lets you throw around a lot of different hues and still keep a cohesive look and feel.

Trend 4: Ball gowns are backbkFrom a full A-line gown to a very over-the-top design, this silhouette will make a huge resurgence down ceremony aisles this year. And you don't have to have a ballroom wedding to pull it off either -- the key is in the fabric. Find one with layers of airy tulle or even cotton for an outdoor spring or summer wedding; get a silk satin ball gown for a more formal wedding; or go for ultra-soft suede for a wintertime wedding.

Trend 5: Two-tiered wedding cakesWhile cupcakes and dessert bars have been popular for the past few years, wedding cakes are making a comeback -- but not in tall towers anymore. Now it's all about having just two tiers. Order several small cakes and put them on each table as a centerpiece, or set up a table of tiny wedding cakes mixed with desserts, cookies, pies, and more. And vintage cake toppers are in too. Find one online at a site like Etsy.com, commission one from a local artist, or borrow your parents' or grandparents' to make your cake extra-memorable.

Trend 6: New centerpiece vesselsThe classic floral vase has given way to mix-and-matched clusters of vintage pitchers, vases, jars, and galvanized buckets. Other ideas: apothecary jars with colorful rocks, sand, or even candy; uniquely shaped glass vases featuring fresh fruits like raspberries and blueberries; and mason jars loaded with fresh flowers like daisies and dahlias. To throw extra color or texture into the mix, line your flower-filled vases with patterned paper or even fabric. For a wintertime fete, get knit and sweater-like coverings to line your vases and complement a cozy decor.

Trend 7: Chandeliers and creative lightingLighting designers are turning out impressive designs, projecting chandeliers, large trees, flowers, and even city skylines right onto the walls. When it comes to your space, hang chandeliers in different sizes, add colorful lamps and shades to the tables, line the room with strands of twinkling lights, and don't skimp on the candles.

Trend 8: The updated photo boothRenting a photo booth has been growing in popularity over the past few years. The updated version? Entire photo sets with fabric backdrops and props. Set up a photo area at the reception that's big enough for a group shot. Drape the background with fabric and add couches, chairs, and plenty of props (think easy-to-throw-on hats and scarves). You may be able to have your photographer or an assistant man the station, or ask a trusty friend to be on hand with a digital camera.
